SATURDAY OCT. 17 WALK is at Palisades Interstate Park in Alpine NJ. The theme for this walk is “Climb Hills” (even though the trail is considered “easy”) & Walk With Your Eyes” from the book, 52 Ways to Walk, by Annabel Streets. We will leave from the church parking lot at 9:30 (after mass).

We will walk on the Cape Fly Away trail, which begins with a generous uphill walk that is rocky and uneven.  It levels out to a wide path of packed dirt, gravel, rocks, and leaves. It is fairly level with some rolling inclines.  It is a 3-mile “out and back” trail, and it should take approximately an hour and a half.  Please bring walking poles if you have them, and wear supportive hiking shoes.

Because it will be a busy area on a beautiful fall day, we will meet at 8:30 am and carpool to the Alpine Boat Basin. Alternatively, people who live in Rockland can meet near the CitiMed near Kohl’s in Nanuet to carpool.

SATURDAY, OCT. 31 WALK is at Fairview Cemetery & Arboreum in Westfield. An arborist will guide us through the 103 species of trees on the property. Our theme for this walk is “Amble Amid the Trees,” from the book “52 Ways to Walk” by Annabel Streets. Please bring a picnic lunch, which will be at nearby Mindowaskin Park.

Walkers are invited to attend the 9:00 am mass and meet in the parking lot after that to carpool to Westfield. Fr. Anthony will lead us on this walk.
