Youth Ministry Retreats
Antioch Retreat
A fun, high energy and spiritually rewarding three day
overnight for young people in grades 9 – 12.
It is an extremely popular (over 200 teens and young
adult leaders from over 20 different towns) and unique
experience. The retreat takes place at Church with
the exception of sleeping. Parishioners offer a room
or floor of their home to the teens and young adults
to sleep and shower as a way of building community
in our Parish.
Freshman/Sophomore Retreat
This truly unique experience is lead by high school upperclassmen.
During the course of a single weekend, teenagers in
their first or second year of high school are exposed
to a first-hand sense of “belonging” and
building stronger relationships with those in their
Parish community. It is a fun and faith-filled recreational
experience.
Living Stations of the Cross— Re-live the final hours of Jesus’ life as the Youth Ministry re-enacts the Stations of the Cross on the evening of Good Friday with acting, singing, and contemporary prayers. Each year the Church is packed with over 1000 people to experience this Presentation tradition led by our high school youth.
Mexico Service Experience
Teenagers going into their junior year of high school
to freshman year of college are invited to experience
the realities of Third World poverty in this week-long
summer immersion experience. Participants benefit from
the multi-faceted aspects this program offers that
include building a concrete house for a Mexican family,
experiencing foreign culture, learning why our faith
calls us to service, participating in ecumenism and
the joys and challenges of living in community.
Senior Get-Away — is our graduation gift from the parish to Seniors graduating High School. It is a time of fun and reflection as our graduates are encouraged to examine how they feel about their accomplishments as well as the changes occurring in their lives. It provides the perfect opportunity to examine values before going to college and the work place.
YouthREACH Retreat
YouthREACH is Presentation's Youth Ministry's way of delving into the many social issues in our world and addressing how Catholic Christians respond to these issues. It is held as a day or overnight retreat with each event having its own topic. During the retreat, teenage participants will tackle some of the causes of the issue, participate in direct service that will benefit those who are dealing with this social dilemma, and explore through a variety of experiences, the issue in depth.
