Our Soup Kitchen Ministry has been working with Mother Teresa's Missionary of Charity for over two decades. What started with a handful of devoted parishioners has grown to over several hundred volunteers.
Throughout the year, hundreds of hot meals are served to two soup kitchens, one in Harlem and one in Newark.
At Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, the Soup Kitchen Ministry goes into high gear. Special meals are prepared using donated turkeys and hams. During these holidays, the Ministry also prepares hot meals for a third soup kitchen in the Bronx.
During the holidays at various times throughout the year, a sharing board is located in the foyer outside of the parish kitchen containing tags of food items needed. The response from our parishioners continues to be overwhelming and we are grateful for their support.
