Marriage / Weddings
Marriage preparation
is required for all engaged couples prior to their wedding.
The process takes about a year to complete.
The requirements
are as follows:
Contact: Peggy Gelnaw at ext.
27 for available dates.
Contact: One of our Parish priests
to determine his availability and to schedule your
initial meeting to begin the necessary paperwork. We
can accommodate your request to have a relative or close
friend preside at your Liturgy.
Wedding Preparation Weekend: This
weekend, offered twice a year, is expected. We promise
that your participation in this weekend will bring clarity
and perspective to this wonderful time in your life.
The weekend begins Saturday morning with Wedding Music Preparation. You
will hear music selections appropriate for your Mass
or Ceremony performed by our organist, soloists and instrumentalists.
Saturday continues with an exciting day of sharing
and reflection on the joys and realities of marriage
facilitated by members of our staff and their spouses.
The day ends with the Saturday evening Liturgy. A
Wedding Liturgy Preparation session occurs on Sunday.
Brides and grooms are updated on all the liturgical
options for your wedding, i.e. procession, vows,
rings, etc.
Pre-Cana: Pre-Cana is mandatory for those wishing
to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage. During the
year of preparation, you may choose to participate
in the Diocesan program or be involved in our process. |
