WELCOMING MINISTRY

"Welcome one another as Christ welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Romans 15:4-9

Through our baptism, we are called to become one body in Christ. Welcoming is attitudinal and seen as the responsibility of both the staff and parishioners to maintain an energy and excitement that is transmitted to new parishioners giving them a sense of welcome and community.

New parishioners are warmly welcomed into our church community through a personal one on one meeting with one of our parish staff members. They are invited to share what brought them to Presentation and are presented with an outline of the many opportunities available to them in ministry. They are given a tour of the facilities, provided with a welcoming packet, welcoming letter and invitation to the next Welcoming Dinner or Pizza Night.

At each of these events, all newly registered parishioners are given an opportunity to meet other new members as well as learn more abut our parish through presentations given by members of our Welcoming Team and a power point which gives new parishioners a visual overview of the many activities that take place here. Those who attended the previous dinner are invited to serve at the next dinner. In this way, they are given the opportunity to be the welcomers of other new members to our community.
