Funeral / Funeral Ministry
We know how difficult it is to make funeral arrangements for a loved one. The funeral ministry responds to the needs of families who are experiencing this loss by providing emotional support, care and compassionate guidance in preparation for the funeral liturgy. During this preparation time, suggestions of scripture readings and music are offered. Families and friends are invited to participate in the Liturgy as readers and gift bearers and the Resurrection Choir accompanies our cantor at the funeral liturgy.
Personalized liturgy booklets are created by parish volunteers and are distributed at the funeral liturgy. A handout is also given to attendees of the funeral inviting them to share a memory of deceased and mail it to the next of kin.
A luncheon is offered to friends and family members of deceased parishioners and served immediately following interment. Everything is provided through the generosity of time and talent of many parishioners.
