High school teenagers from all over the tri-state area have found community, a way to challenge themselves, and give to others through Presentation’s Youth Ministry. All are welcome! Join us for any number of events/activities. Add this page to your Favorites and check back with us often for new and updated event information. Youth Ministry Events 2011-2012

Sunday Community Gatherings— Some come to meet new people or see old friends, others come for a spiritual boost at the beginning of their week, most come for both! A few times a month the high school youth of the parish gather together to socialize, talk about current issues, and support each other in prayer.

Confirmation Preparation for Teens - The Sacrament of Confirmation is offered to interested teenagers in 10-12th grades. Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year program. Freshmen will receive information about the requirements. An informational meeting for all families is held in the Spring of the year pror to the preparation process. For more information, contact Martha Mahoney, our Confirmation Coordinator at ext. 821.

DANCE-a-THON for St. Bernard Project—This summer we are hosting our first ever Dance-a-thon to benefit St. Bernard Project, the Charity with whom we work on our Summer Mission trip. Participants will be asked to form teams and to join us as we dance the night away for New Orleans! Click here for more information! Date: Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 6:00pm-midnight.

YouthREACH: Hope for the Homeless* Serve the homeless and see what you can do to help stop homelessness.

Freshman/Sophomore Retreat*— Join us for a wonderful weekend away at the Warwick Retreat Center. This peer-led retreat is usually attended by over 200 teens and is full of inspiring witness talks, great discussions, games, music, prayer and much more!

Advent and Lent Pardon & Peace— We can all use a little forgiveness in our relationships with God and others. Twice a year our parish offers a communal service to help us seek forgiveness and heal those relationships.

Lent Pardon & Peace—Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 7:30pm
 

Spiritual Explorers*— This 4 or 6 week program is held in Advent 2011 and Lent 2012 and is for sophomores, juniors and seniors who wish to dive deeper into their faith with an adult mentor. Teens ask an adult to be their mentor for the program, and spend time discussing the Sunday Gospels and faith sharing in pairs and with the group. It is a sonderful program for those who wish to further explore their faith and the Word of God. Click here for the Lent 2012 registration form.

Antioch Retreat*— is a fun, high energy, and spiritually rewarding three-day overnight for young people in grades 9-12. This extremely popular (over 200 teen and young adult leaders from over 20 different towns) and unique experience is difficult to explain and simply must be experienced!!

YouthReach: "Courage: Developing Character to Stand Strong"*— Every day we are faced with moral choices that affect our health, relationships, and spiritual well-being. Join us as we look at how our faith in Christ can give us the strength and ability to live lives defined by courage.

Living Stations of the Cross— Re-live the final hours of Jesus’ life as the Youth Ministry re-enacts the Stations of the Cross with acting, singing, and contemporary prayers. Each year the Church is packed with over 1000 people to experience this Presentation tradition led by our high school youth. No acting or singing experience necessary. Come and be a part of this life-giving and rewarding experience!

Retreat Day and Service – Friday, April 6, 2012

Hiking Day Trip: Join us for an experience of community building and prayer as we spend a day together walking and sharing our faith. This day will give us a chance to be together as we explore and learn to appreciate the beauty of God's creation.

Senior Get-Away*— is our graduation gift from the parish to Seniors graduating High School. It is a time of fun and reflection as our graduates are encouraged to examine how they feel about their accomplishments as well as the changes occurring in their lives. It provides the perfect opportunity to examine values before going to college and the work place. We will be "retreating" to Harvey Cedars Bible Conference on Long Beach Island NJ.
Planned Date: Friday-Saturday, May 4-5, 2012

New Orleans Summer Service Mission — High school sophomores, juniors & seniors during the 2011-2012 school year are invited to experience this week-long summer immersion experience. Participants will benefit from the multi-faceted aspects this program offers which include rebuilding homes in New Orleans. Join us as we learn how our faith calls us to service, to participation in ecumenism, and the joys and challenges of living in solidarity with others.
