ARE YOU VOLUNTEERING FOR YOUTH MINISTRY, FAMILY FAITH, FIRST EUCHARIST, CHILDREN’S LITURGY?
Attendance at a PGC Workshop (as well as passing a background check and completing other paperwork) is required for any adult who is involved with children or teens here at the parish. Registration must be done at www.virtusonline.org prior to attending a workshop, even if you plan to attend one at Presentation. Please contact Margie Rightmyer at ext. 840 with any questions.
(If you have already attended a PGC workshop here or at another parish, you do not need to repeat the workshop).
In accordance with requirements mandated by the Archdiocese of Newark, all adults, staff and volunteers alike, involved with the children and teenagers of our parish must comply with the following requirements:
1. Complete an application (click here to download a copy)
2. Read “Archdiocesan Policies with respect to Conduct with Minors and certain Reporting Obligations” (click here to download a copy)
3. Sign an acknowledgement form for the policies (click here to download a copy)
4. Attend a Protecting God’s Children Workshop (Visit www.virtusonline.org for a complete schedule of Protecting God's Children Workshops in our area)
The Protecting God’s Children Workshop provides sexual abuse awareness training. This workshop is helpful whether you are a teacher, parent, grandparent, neighbor, coach, scout leader or friend of a child. Everyone should be aware of the warning signs of child abuse.
Click www.virtusonline.org for a schedule of the workshops being offered by area parishes & schools (you may attend at any location). Registration is required. Please notify the Youth Ministry Office at 201-327-1313 ext. 844 or the Family Faith Office at ext. 832 (or whatever ministry you're working with) after attending the workshop so we know that this requirement has been satisfied.
How to Report Abuse
The Archdiocese of Newark takes very seriously any and all allegations of sexual misconduct by members of the clergy, Religious and lay staff of the Archdiocese. We encourage anyone with knowledge of an act of sexual misconduct to inform us immediately so that we may take appropriate action to protect others and provide support to victims of sexual abuse.
Individuals who wish to report an allegation of sexual misconduct may do so by calling the Archdiocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection at (201) 407-3256.
