2011-2012 Junior High Faith Formation Program (Grades 7 & 8)

Families with children in grades 1-6 should register in our Family Faith Program.

There is a Junior High parent meeting on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 (at the end of the Family Faith parent meeting) beginning at approx. 10:15am or 8:15pm in the Community Room.

Click here for the registration materials.

We are in need of parent volunteers for our classes and retreats. We are in need of catechists as well as general chaperones. If you wish to be a catechist, we will offer training throughout the year. If you can help with the classes or the retreats in which you are registering your child, please let us know. We would love to have you! Please contact Maureen Murphy for more information.

Dear Parents:

We are excited about our 2011-2012 Junior High program, and we are planning and working very hard to make it a fun, faith-filled learning experience including the main components of learning the word, community service, worshipping together in a retreat setting, and community building.

We are also excited to offer summer courses and a retreat this summer (2011), as well as many course and retreat offerings in the Fall and in the Spring. You have many options to choose from when considering your child’s schedule. When choosing a class, retreat, or service opportunity, please make sure your child can attend the entire program. Also, be aware that classes do fill up quickly, and we encourage timely registrations to ensure availability of your selections.

As you look over the registration materials, please read and discuss the Faith Formation Mission Statement and Covenant Agreement (the last page of the registration materials) with your child. These stress the importance of the family/parish partnership in faith formation. Also know that we are here to support you as you live as the “domestic church.”

We also wanted to make you aware that the Junior High Program is a required piece of our Parish Catechetical Program. It is also required by the Archdiocese, and considered part of your child’s remote preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation when he/she is in 10th grade. In other words, your child must complete both 7th and 8th Grade Faith Formation in order to be considered eligible to be enrolled in our Confirmation Preparation Program in 9th and 10th Grades.

May God bless you, and we look forward to a wonderful year with your child!

Peace,
Catzel LaVecchia Bumpus
