Jr. High Mini-Courses

"Bible Stuff" Monday through Friday, July 7-11, 2008: 5:30-7:30pm
A video series that digs into the Bible and encourages discussion amongst peers.

Morality Thursdays September 9, 16, 23, 30 & October 7: 4:00-6:00pm
Choices, choices, choices! Our lives are filled with moral choices. While the church teaches that a person’s first obligation is to follow one’s conscience, the church also teaches that the person’s conscience must be well formed.

Kingdom of God Thursdays September 18, 25, October 9, 16, 23: 6:00-8:00pm
If we do not feel compelled to serve as Christ in the world, then we are missing the point. We are given new life through our faith in Jesus Christ and our good deeds.

Revelations Wednesdays October 15, 22, 29, November 12, 19: 4:00-6:00pm
Whatever we believe about the beginning of the universe, the most important truth
for us is that all that exists was originally created out of nothing and set in motion by God.

Sacraments Mondays November 3, 10, 17, 24 December 1: 4:00-6:00pm
Our Sacramental life is one of the greatest aspects of belonging to the Catholic Church. The genius of the Sacraments is partly found in the elements used to celebrate them. These ordinary things become extraordinary when God uses them as signs of his grace and presence.

Jesus Christ Tuesdays November 25, December 2, 9, 16, 23: 5:00-7:00pm
Jesus is the Emanuel- God with us. He enters into the fullness of our human experience
and calls us to live our humanity as a complete response to God’s love.

The Trinity Fridays December 5, 12, 19, January 9, 16: 5:00-7:00pm
As Catholics we profess belief in one God manifested in three distinct Persons:
the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who together created us, redeemed us and continue to inspire us.

The Church Wednesdays, March 4, 11, 18, 25, April 1: 6:00-8:00pm
The word disciple comes from the same root word as discipline. In Christian terms,
discipleship means engaging in the lifelong process of conforming our wills to the will of Jesus Christ.

Mini-Courses (Scripture Study): Requires reading Gospel passages at home before each class. The Gospels tell us how we should lead our daily lives. Reading the Gospels at home and coming to discuss them will help us do that.

Gospel of Matthew - Mondays: Sept. 8, 15, 22, 29, Oct. 6, 20, 27, Nov. 3:
4:30-5:30pm

Gospel of John – Mondays: January 5, 12, 26m Feb. 2, 9, 23 March 2, 9: 4:30-5:30pm

Junior High Retreat
