Structure & Overview of our Family Faith Formation Program 2008-2009
The Program is built on and assumes that our families attend weekly Mass. We have eliminated the need for families to come to the parish on two separate occasions on a weekend by either starting or ending our Family Assemblies and Family Learning Sessions with Mass. Please keep in mind that our 10:00am Sunday Mass is our designated “Family Mass,” with an opportunity for children to celebrate the Liturgy of the Word at a level they can understand.

Parent Kick-Off Meeting: Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28, 9:30am-11:00am or 7:00—9:00pm: An orientation meeting for parents only at which you will receive an overview of the year and receive information on how you can live and teach the faith at home. In response to your feedback, we will be distributing a resource book for you to use at home.

Family Assemblies: Our Family Assembly sessions are scheduled on four weekends during the course of the year. In response to your feedback, your family will stay together during these sessions. The program requires attendance at one of the Family Assembly Sessions on each of the four weekends, scheduled on:
Saturday afternoons: 3:00pm-6:00pm (includes 5:00pm Mass);
Sunday afternoons: 11:30am-2:30pm (includes 11:30am Mass); or
Sunday evenings: 4:30pm-7:30pm (includes 6:30pm Mass).
Additional Learning Opportunities: The program requires attendance at a total of either three Family Learning Sessions, or two Family Learning Sessions and one Catholicism 101 Session.
(Of course, you’re welcome to register for as many as you like, space permitting.)
Family Learning Sessions , provides your family additional opportunities to explore topics of interest together. The 45-minute sessions (+ 1 hr. for Mass) are scheduled throughout the year on:
Saturday afternoons: 4:15pm-6:00pm (includes 5:00pm Mass), and
Sunday afternoons: 11:30am-1:15pm (includes 11:30am Mass).
Catholicism 101: It is an opportunity for adults to explore a topic of interest in-depth so you can feel comfortable sharing the information at home. Catholicism 101 is offered on Thursday mornings from 10:30am-noon and repeated Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm.
Parish Community Events: The Program requires attendance at a total of two parish community events. We have many events from which to choose, and you’re of course welcome to attend as many as you like (space permitting). The parish events schedule is on page 2 of the Registration Form.
